THE HANOI TIMES — Museums managed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) will open their doors free of charge from September 1–3 as Vietnam marks the 80th anniversaries of the August Revolution and National Day.
The move, directed by MCST Minister Nguyen Van Hung, aims to encourage public participation in cultural events, strengthen national pride, and showcase Vietnam’s heritage to both domestic and international visitors.
The free-admission program covers major cultural institutions, including the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Vietnam National Museum of History, the Vietnam National Museum of Fine Arts in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
“These activities foster unity and patriotism while promoting Vietnam’s image globally,” said Hung.
During this time, the museums will also host a variety of exhibitions and displays that highlight the history, culture, land, and people of Vietnam.
Specifically, at the Ho Chi Minh Museum, activities will include a special exhibition titled 80 Years of the People’s Public Security Remembering Uncle Ho (August 15); the Autumn of Independence exhibition commemorating the 80th National Day (August 26); and a large-scale outdoor oil painting display Spring of Independence (September 2).
Meanwhile, at the Vietnam National Museum of History, an exhibition titled Mass Education - Lighting the Future is set to open on August 22.
The Vietnam Fine Arts Museum will host two exhibitions titled "Children of the Nation" to be opened on August 15, and "Artificial Intelligence in Applied Fine Arts" scheduled for August 22.

The Ho Chi Minh City branch of the Fine Arts Museum will also hold an exhibition "Ho Chi Minh – Portrait of a Man."
At the same time, the Vietnam Contemporary Art Theater will present free shows from September 1 to 3, especially for children, including water puppet performances and various musical and theatrical programs.
In addition to museums, the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism will also host a variety of vibrant activities to highlight the traditional cultures of Vietnam’s ethnic communities.
Visitors can explore a recreated highland market and enjoy festive cultural and musical performances presented by ethnic groups living in the village.
According to Director of the Department of Ethnic Culture Trinh Ngoc Chung, the village is expected to welcome around 50,000 visitors during the three-day free admission period.
Vietnam is preparing for the 80th anniversary of National Day with a variety of cultural activities, including the most prominent one is the military parade which will draw an estimated 40,000 people including the armed forces joining the march and the public.
