THE HANOI TIMES — Hanoi will install nearly1,000 portable toilets across the city to accommodate the large crowds expected during the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).
So far, around 600 units have been placed at key locations. Another 400 will be added by August 15, followed by 200 more before August 27 to ensure adequate sanitation facilities during the festivities.

Local authorities are encouraging government offices, schools, hospitals, and private residences to open their restrooms to tourists and visitors during the celebrations. They estimate that an additional 400 restrooms are needed.
These measures are in place in anticipation of up to one million people visiting the city for rallies, parades, and ceremonies in the coming weeks.
Authorities are coordinating with local agencies to carefully select and survey locations based on safety and convenience.
This year's National Day celebrations include a packed schedule of events, such as a grand ceremony with parades, art programs, and exhibitions that showcase the nation's achievements, culture, and history.
The grand celebration is expected to welcome more than 30,000 attendees, with seating arrangements carefully prepared. The event serves as a national day of great unity, highlighting the solidarity of Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups from all regions of the country, and will also feature the formal introduction of several international guests.
